除硝系统通常处理从氯碱离子膜电解槽来的脱氯淡盐水，在这个位置Na₂SO₄浓度最高而NaCl浓度最低。为了保持盐水中Na₂SO₄的平衡，正常仅需要处理一部分脱氯淡盐水，剩余的脱氯淡盐水回到一次盐水系统中。

为了使MRO系统长时间的稳定运行，盐水质量必须维持在规格要求内，因为游离氯会损坏膜材料，同样超出pH值和温度的正确范围也会影响系统的正常运行。

为了确保盐水总是在规定的规格内，盐水前处理系统对于MRO系统来说是必须的，盐水前处理系统的第一步就是用换热器把盐水冷却到35～45℃，接下来就是利用活性炭过滤器脱除残余游离氯，调整pH值到期望的5.5～6.5量程，另外进入膜过滤工序前的保安过滤器可防止大的颗粒进入膜，经过处理合格的盐水可以直接进入到膜过滤系统的高压泵。

pre-treatment system is to cool the brine to 35-45 ℃ using a heat exchanger. The next step is to use an activated carbon filter to remove residual free chlorine and adjust 

the pH value to the desired range of 5.5-6.5. In addition, a security filter before entering the membrane filtration process can prevent large particles from entering the
